Nobel Prize Awarded for Therapies Against Infectious Diseases

Three scientists who contributed to the development of drugs against roundworm parasites and malaria have been awarded the 2015 Nobel Prize for Medicine or Physiology. One half of the prize was awarded to to William C. Campbell and Satoshi Ōmura 'for their discoveries concerning a novel therapy against infections caused by roundworm parasites' and the other half was awarded to Youyou Tu 'for her discoveries concerning a novel therapy against Malaria'.
