Research Activities

Our laboratory is interested in defining how nucleic acids control the interface between host and pathogens, and how this can lead to inflammatory diseases (as seen in Systemic Lupus Erythematosus).
We are actively developing novel therapies modulating nucleic acids sensing in the context of hyper-inflammation and auto-immunity, including with our commercial partner Pharmorage Pty Ltd.
Our expertise is highly relevant to the development of RNA therapeutics such as mRNA vaccines - please contact us if this and area you want to collaborate on this.

Techniques/Expertise

cGAS-STING signalling
TLR7/8 biology
miRNA research
mRNA therapeutics

Disease Models

Viral infections (IAV), SLE (Skin lupus/psoriasis).
