Research Activities

My research work is principally focused on events central to human infection and immunity. Specifically, I work on structural & functional studies on viral and bacterial proteins involved in infection and challenging human immunity. This has important implications for understanding the disease progression in humans and provides hints towards its regulation. My current research also focuses on SARS, HIV and HTLV in understanding host-pathogen interactions. My research key technical areas include X-ray crystallography, cryoEM and cryoET, Molecular dynamics, protein biochemistry and biophysical techniques (SPR, ITC, MALS, SAXS, MST, TPM). I am also an expert in DNA/RNA-Protein interactions and dissecting their functional importance with their physiological role. In particular, in the control of viral RNA replication and translation in humans..
